 Hello customer,

Part of our job at Avira is to notify you of new threats. Hackers have been increasing their efforts to make fake banking portals so they can trick you into giving up personal data.

How they do it: Hackers are using sophisticated techniques that include sending an infected email attachment masquerading as an invoice from a reputed source or perhaps an interesting Facebook post that takes you to an infected website. The malware infects your web browser so that, when accessing your trusted banking site, an extra field appears asking for additional personal information.

How to stay safe: Avira Free Antivirus does not scan emails for malware nor offer additional safeguards against infected websites. For that, we recommend that you upgrade to Avira Antivirus Pro 2015.

Safe surfing,
Avira Team
